D.C. dining options for family with kids
Our family will be visiting Washington D.C. the end of September and staying close to the Capitol. Can anyone recommend child-friendly eating options in the area?

If you provide a bit more information -ages of kids, what you will be doing, etc. you will probably get better response.
Near the Capitol is Union Station, which I believe does have some kid-friendly establishments. I think Uno's, etc.
I guess it all depends on what your kids will eat. My 4-year old will eat Sushi (not raw), Vietnamese noodles and Thai Sate, so we can take her anywhere. If they will only eat hotdogs you might have a problem.
Good luck.

Not too far, and in the middle of sightseeing, is the Old Ebbit Grill, a Washington institution that offers a varied menu including a great burger.
This will give you a list of places to eat in Union Station

There are lots of places to go. Checkout www.opentable.com. I like Clyde's and Pizza Paradisio in Georgetown(they have good happy hour deals). Though Clyde's has it only on Tuesday and Wednesday 5-7? Clyde's has the Maryland Blue Crab Sandwich with fries for $6.00. They also have very good burgers for $4.00. Downtown DC also has a lot of restaurants. There is also a Clyde's there but I think the menu is slightly different. The MCI Center is in Downtown DC(China Gallery Metro Station). Tell us more. There is also a very good cafeteria in the Native American Museum.

We will be staying at the Holiday Inn on the Hill on New Jersey Ave. with children ages 9 and 7. They will eat a variety of foods, although Sushi would not be high on their list of yummy options - lol. I know Union Station is close and has several places. However, I was wondering if there are some other suggestions that I wouldn't find on my own -- more for locals -- with some vegetarian options and where it would be OK to take the kids. Thanks for your help.
