DC: any comments on Embassy Square Suites, Washington Suites Georgetown & Homewood Suites??
I would like to know if anyone has any experience with the following two-room suite-type hotels:

1. Embassy Square Suites, 2000 N Street, Dupont Circle
2. Washington Suites Georgetown, near Foggy Bottom metro
3. Homewood Suites by Hilton (open less than a year), Mass Ave near McPherson metro (they serve breakfast AND dinner!)

Each is advertising great rates, and I would like any comments. Thanks!!!

When is the great rate for? We are travelling in June. When you say Breakfast and dinner, you didn't mean that dinner was included for free did you?

I would also appreciate any comments on these hotels. My family is booked at L'enfant Plaza but we can cancel if a better deal is out there.

Also, Holiday Inn Capital has decent rates and is in the location I want to be in but I've heard it is shabby with poor service. Is this true?

Thanks!

Also, I don't know what you're interested in but I've been looking for info on what sights to see and which to skip in Washington DC and have gotten lots and lots of good advice. The thread is under the name "TOP 5 THINGS TO DO WITH KIDS IN WASHINGTON DC" or something like that. If you get any goo info, post it there or here. I'm interested in everybodies opinion not the canned stuff you read about each location. I want to know if the kids loved it or hated it, you know?

Sonya, the rates are for the first week in April. I got them by calling each location directly, and mentioned that I saw the rates on the capitolreservations.com site. The embassy quare suites is $149/nite; the Washington Suites Georgetown is $139/nite plus and extra $20 for a rollaway (which we need); the Homewood Suites is $159/nite and it DOES include breakfast AND dinner in that price (if you call them they will tell you what's scheduled on the menu for each night.

Im just concerned about the quality of these properties for the price--it seems too good to be true, so I am very suspect.

So, anyone with any experience or first hand knowledge????

Are you with or without family, with or without car? How many staying together? Also note the phrase "near" metro. I work near McPherson & the Homewood would be OK for business, but not with kids -- not really near anything, including Metro. night. I think the Wash. suites is a hike to Metro if in GT, or in more Univer. area is near GW with few restaurants. I'd pick Dupont circle.

We stayed at the Embassy Square Suites last August and were very satisfied with it. It is an older hotel with few frills, but was a very short walk to the Metro. The full kitchen was nice and my husband and son loved the free breakfast.

I'm going to D.C. in July and just booked Wyndham City Center Hotel from Expedia.com for $90.00 a night. When I went into Wyndham.com myself their rates are $215.00 a night and up.

You might want to look into expedia.

I booked a group of 50 seniors at the Embassy Square Suites and they enjoyed it very much. Just so you know despite the name, there is no connection to the Embassy Suites.
