DC and monument night tours

Any info on bus tours that view the monuments at night? Or, should we just take the metro? Thanks.

I was just in DC last week and we saw
the monuments both ways. We used Gray
Line Tours for a 3 hour tour of the
monuments and they let us out to walk
around at the Jefferson Memorial, FDR
Memorial, Lincoln Memorial (including
the Viet Nam and Korean War Veterans'
Memorials) and the Kennedy Center. The
tour cost $28.00 and we were able to get
tickets right at our hotel. We used
the Metro mainly during the day--if you
use it to see the monuments you will be
doing alot of walking, but we did walk
to the Washington Monument and Jefferson
Memorial right from the hotel as well
as the White House. The bus tour was
well worth the money as the driver told
us alot about each sight.

Sorry, forgot to add that the bus tour
was a night time tour.

Don't recommend the metro for a nighttime tour of the monuments--the metro stops are not close to many of them. For less than the $28 per person Colleen mentioned, you could probably get a taxi driver to take you around all the monuments and you wouldn't be part of a crowd. The driver might not be a tour guide, however.

I believe that the trolley and/or Tourmobile also offer nighttime tours.

The metro won't help you with a night tour unless you are in for a hike. And you really won't need a tour bus - depending on where you are starting from - if you are staying in Va and opt for the metro and national Cemetary is on your list- then walk across the Memorial bridge to Lincoln's memorial - (that is a walk!)it helps that Lincoln will be in site! Once there you can also see the Vietnam Memorial (the wall is best viewed at night) the statue to honor the nurses and the Korean Monumet (also fantastic at night) if you are still up for a walk head towards the Washington Monumennt (also in site) or take a cab (it's not far via cab) once there walk to the Jefferson Memorial (also great at night!)
