Williamsburg and Busch Gardens. Virginia Beach is right next door. Downtown Norfolk Waterside and maybe a visit to the Battleship Missouri. What time of the year? ((b))

Anytime, I just moved here

Colonial Williamsburg is great. Especially during the summer months, you can get a real sense of Colonial history there. It is also nice at Christmas when they have all the lights up, but summer is when most of the programs are going on daily. Their website is history.org

The Eastern shore across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel with a stop at Stingray's for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Chincoteague/VA Assateague is doable in a day if you leave early.
The Middle Peninsula, Irvington and Urbanna area. Stay at the Tides Inn if you want to do a weekend. Watch for the Oyster festival in Urbanna. Gloucester/Mathews or just lunch at Rivers Inn just over the bridge. The Virginia Living Museum and Mariners Museum in Newport News. You are surprisingly close to the Raleigh/Durham area for a great weekend trip. Start in Portsmouth and then ferry over to Norfolk for that battleship visit Budman suggested. Charlottesville and Wintergreen are great weekend getaways. Luray and the Shenandoah valley should not be missed. We like to stay at Jordan Farm. There are cheap flights on Airtran for weekends in NYC and you probably know that Southwest flys out of Norfolk. Welcome to the area. |
Hi thanks, sounds all great
