Considering taking a daytrip to Annapolis this Sunday or Monday. I have been there before, but it was years ago. Looking for a good restaurant for lunch -- something unique to Annapolis, not terribly pricey. I remember a very unique little coffeeshop with a garden courtyard someplace, but am not sure if it's even still there. Also, interested in doing a little light antiquing & would like suggestions for some good shops (not looking for any major pieces of furniture -- mostly interested in antique blue glass and other decorative items, books, photographs, maps, housewares, etc.). I will do a search of old threads, but thought some of you might have some suggestions -- thanks.

For antiques go to Maryland Avenue which brances off State Circle. Can't miss State Circle because the domed State House is there. Lunch? For the view, a window table at Buddy's Crabs and Ribs. Or outside seating at Middleton's if not too cold. O'Brian's on Main Street is good and they have outside tables is weather permits. Cafe Normandy on Main Street is a good french place. If you have a car try to find Cantler's Riverside across the Old (now new) Severn River Bridge. Get good direction though. Harry Browne's is still open I believe on State Circle. Or just meander through the market place and eat at the raw bar there.

For a restaurant unique to Annapolis try either Middleton Tavern or McGarvey's. They are right next to each other at the city dock. Not sure if it's open for lunch, but the Treaty of Paris in the Hotel Maryland is very nice, too - and historic. It is across the street from the state house. I also agree with other recommendations above with the exception of Buddy's - never cared much for the atmosphere or food. Nothing really unique about it.

Yes, yes, yes to the Treaty of Paris French Restaurant located on State Circle, one of the historic inns. Very quaint. Good food.

I don't guess it's blue crab season until Spring/Summer...otherwise...

Hi Lisa! For antiques, Maryland Avenue is definitely the place. Lots of interesting little shops with beautiful and interesting items. I can't think of any current coffee shops with a little courtyard, unfortunately. Harry Browne's is nice for lunch - right on State Circle/adjacent to Maryland Ave. Great food and nice atmosphere - a little off of the beaten path. Have fun!

Thanks everybody for all these great suggestions. Does anyone know if most of the antique stores are open on Sunday? (Can't go Saturday).

Forgot to mention that I love crab & seafood but my boyfriend can't eat it, so I need to choose a restaurant that has other things besides seafood/fish.

All restaurants serve fare other than seafood. And as far as my suggestion of Buddy's Crabs and Ribs, the food ain't the best in Annapolis but the window view is good. Call the Annapolis Visitor's Center at 410-280-0445 to ask about Sunday antiqueing (sp?) Or visit their website at http://www.visit-annapolis.org/
Yes, Treaty of Paris restaurant is very good and so is Northwoods just about a mile out of town off Rowe Blvd.

Don't forget Ruth and Chick's Dely on Main Street. Been there forever!
