Daytona Beach
We'll be in Daytona Beach for the Daytona 500. We've never attended a race like this so we're hoping for a good time. Any ideas as to what else we should do while we're in the area for a week?

Th, is is a real softball! Visit St. Augustine. Nice beaches, many good & reasonable restaurants, art galleries, distinctive architecture, shopping (2 outlet malls) and tons of history as America's oldest city. It's no more than 45-60 minutes north up A1A or I-95.
Oh, yes. About Daytona. If you haven't done so already, make your rental car and lodging reservations now. _____________________________________________ Vic's travels: http://my.flightmemory.com/vogilvie |
Go to Brickyard near the Speedway for good food and drink.

We do have our flight, condo and car reservations made so we're just wanting ideas of things we should see and do and good places to eat. We plan to relax and do nothing some days too! Thanks for the info.

The restaurant recommendations are so appreciated - it's always good to get a "first-hand" report. We prefer to try local spots as opposed to chains.

You need to try Aunt Catfish's. It was always our favorite restaurant in DB. During race week everything will be crowded and you will wait for a table.

Go down to Cape Canaveral and go to the Space Center.
