Dayton Tours to Washington DC from Frederick Maryland?

Hi,

I am considering going to Frederick, MD and have seen that there are tours going to DC for the day with the tour company, Dayton Tours. Has anyone any experience of this group? Any idea of the cost - it's not listed on their site.

Thanks,

Laura

the only tour I have takenrelated to DC was to Gettysburg for the day...left from Union Sta and cost $ 70.,It was worth the money.
I have heard you can go into DC via Amtrak--I have not done this but you could call Amtrak (toll free) and inquire about Frederick. Once you get to DC there are many tours of the area.
good luck

I have the feeling that Dayton Tours is just a local motorcoach company in Frederick that does tours, including DC tours, much like some of the companys near my hometown (near Albany NY) and probably yours too. You might have better luck if you can find a forum for the Frederick area and ask people if they've taken a Dayton tour.

Similarly, there is another tour company (name escapes me right now) east of DC that does tours in DC, and most of its "pickups" are at Union Station, altho one could start at the city the company is at. Again, probably similar to Dayton. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

BTW, there is a MARC train to DC from near Frederick. You'll arrive at Union Station, and a number of tour companies operate from there.

http://www.mtamaryland.com/schedules...c_schedule.cfm

will show MARC trains (Brunswick Line) and you can download schedules there.
