Days Inn at Mall of America

I've tentatively booked this hotel across the street from Mall of America for our 4 day stay in August. Does anyone have some feedback on this hotel? I definitely want convenience since we're only going to the Mall and are not renting a car. Is there a shuttle to this hotel from the airport?
I have seen the Days Inn by the Mall of America numerous times, and I personally would choose NOT to stay there when considering other area hotels. You might want to look into staying at the Homewood Suites or Country Inn and Suites Mall of America, both of which are located literally across the road from the Mall of America.

Country Inn Mall of America:

http://countryinnmoa.citysearch.com/

Homewood Suites Mall of America:

http://homewoodminneapolis.citysearch.com/

Hope this helps, if any more questions please feel free to post them!

I agree that the Day's Inn chain tends to be spotty. Try this link for many lodging selections in the Mall of America area:

http://www.bloomington.org/visit.html

I'm not willing to say that the Day's Inn at that particular location is a bad choice, but you can check to see what kind of comparisons can be made to it in various rate categories.

Stayed there once because it was cheap, and just needed some place to crash. It was dirty, noisy, and the mattress was cheap. Don't stay there if you have any other choice.

I live in the area and would rec. either the Hilton-Gardens in Eagan or the Holiday Inn express in Eagan. Both are a 4-5 minute drive from the mall and both hotels have shuttles.

Thanks for all the recommendations. I'm seriously reconsidering.

Any advice on the Mall itself?

I don't even LIKE shopping and I can easily entertain myself for the better part of a day at the Mall of America. I would say I like the West Edmonton Mall slighty better because it is a little longer on entertainment options, but there are a number of fun things to do at the Mall of America too. Grab a Camp Snoopy discount certificate at your hotel. :o)

We're shopping fools and can't wait to go to the Mall. Camp Snoopy is our first stop. My daughter is 8 and loves malls. This will be our back to school shopping trip/vacation combined. In April we go to the Bahamas! (my idea of a great vacation!)

Thanks again, everyone.
