Dayle---Utah Cold Question

Dayle, we are leaving Thursday for Deer Valley and I just checked the weather---19F will be the high for most of the trip!

Husband and I both have silk longjohns, but they are the lightest weight. Do we need to air express some heavier ones? We're planning to go dogsledding and on the outdoor safari while we're there, so there will be some component of being outside and not moving much and COLD!

Another question :)

Is there a good gift basket place in PC? I've sent hostess gifts well ahead, but I'm now thinking we might not get out to as many restaurants as we'd planned. I'm thinking something with lots of food goodies.

I think it's more likely that the lows will be 19F http://www.deervalley.com/skiing/weather/5day.jsp
I would think rather than heavier long johns, you'd be better off with extra layers.

Don't know if they do baskets, but Windy Ridge http://www.windyridgefoods.com/index.html has a deli and lots of goodies

Thanks for the link, Barbara S. And I checked again--the <i>high</i> on Friday and Sat. is 19.

I'm not sure where you're from kswl, but we were in Park City earlier this month and the high one of the days was around 20. It truly didn't feel bad, and I am always cold! The air is drier and there wasn't the bitter, biting wind that we get here in the east that usually makes me miserable.

hi k,

Sorry, I didn't see your post until now.

I just checked and the weather this weekend in Park City is supposed to be 30's daytime/19 night lows. That's perfect skiing weather. You'll be fine. Plus we're supposed to have a good storm Friday, so the snow will be Great!

Here are a couple of gift basket companies for you:

Hi Barbara

Thanks, all. I got my information from the national weather service, which I checked <i>twice!</i> Then I looked today and it was back on track, with highs in the high 30's and lows of around 17.

I don't know what happened to the forecast, or if there was a glitch at NOAA, but we certainly are relieved! We're from Georgia, Karens, and the lows of 7F were just a little bit intimidating :)

And I just spoke to my friend who is already out there and it's in the 40's, sunny and beautiful. She heard it's going to be very cold this weekend but not THAT cold, thank goodness.

Dayle, thanks for the gift basket link!

Prego K!

We are having a very unusual year. Keep going back and forth between spring and winter. Today it's spring with temps in the SL valley of 58! This weekend it will be winter again.

Dayle, I just got off the phone with Rocky Mountain Baskets. They are doing up an Oscars basket for us for Sunday night---much the same stuff they used last two weeks for Sundance, huge basket, major munchies, all tied up with &quot;film&quot; ribbon.

Thanks so very much for the recommendation!

You could also check with www.thegrocerygirls.com for grocery delivery and gift baskets. They are also a good company and may be cheaper than the other options.

utahfanatic66, you have just answered a question from February, 2007--I imagine they've selected the gift by now!

abram, thank you for pointing out my mistake. I was just trying to be helpful.
