Dayle, you've made suggestions re Park City dining before. We are family of 4 going to Park City next week, staying at Main Street area, and hopefully I'm not too late in making dinner reservations. Need 5 nights including New Years Eve (family dinner, not an extravaganza!) -- two teens, one picky eater -- and don't want to spend a fortune on dinner. We will have a car, so can drive outside of the Main Street area -- can you let me know if these are appropriate for adults and teens: Texas Red's, Wasatch Brewery, Kampai (picky diner will eat sushi rolls!), The Grub Steak, Park City Grill. Should we try to get into Salt Lake City for a dinner or should we stick to the mountains. <BR><BR>Thanks in advance!

The Park City restaurants that you have listed are all adequate for what you are looking for. You will definately need reservations. If the weather is good, there are plenty of nice places in SLC, if you wanted to take the 30 minute drive to the city. I would just hunker down in PC is the weather not good, as driving I-80 over Parley's Summit is not for the faint of heart when it is snowing.

Thanks. When it came down to it, after speaking with the Camber of Something, these are the reservations I made: Zoom, Blind Dog Grill, Kampai, Eating Establishment, and considering Nacho Mama's, but without reservations. Any thoughts for us on these?

You will be just fine at the restaurants you have selected.<BR>Zooms, Kampai, and Eating Esatablishment are all near each other...Blind Dog and Nacho Mamas on other side of town are near each other.<BR>Enjoy !!

Driving way back to SLC for dinner is crazy. Park City has it all. The only reason I go to SLC is because that's where the airport is!!!

I thought the Blind Dog was terrible. The food took forever and the servers were more interested in skiing the next day. Never again. Kampai was good.

Hi Barbara! Just gettng my computer back on line after several months away. All your restaurant choices should be just what you're looking for. Personally, I haven't been to the Blind Dog. Zoom is especially good &amp; The Grub Steak is a very good value. the Eating Extablishment is one of the best deals in town &amp; one of my favorites. I always take visitors there. <BR><BR>Two more recommendations - in the Kimball Junction area - The Sage Grill is one of Park City's best restaurants. The Loco Lizard is liked by most &amp; is more of a local place.<BR><BR>Hope this gets to you in time. We have new snow &amp; it's cold. Have a good time!

Thanks for all the comments. We are very excited -- looks like lots of new snow, too and temps in the 30s -- perfect skiing, right?

It's a gorgeous blue bird day with fresh snow and really cold! HoHoHo, I'll be skiing with Santa tomorrow!

Just returned from Park City -- in case others are wondering, here's a very brief trip report from a first-time visitor. Skiing was fabulous, even though a bit crowded (not unexpected, given the time of year). The hands-down favorite was Deer Valley for skiing. It is so much more convenient for us east-coasters to fly into Salt Lake City and drive the 30 minutes to the mountains than going to Breckenridge (2+ hour drive from Denver). We stayed at the Park Station Hotel, which was wonderful for location -- able to walk to dinner on Main Street every night. While not the most luxurious lodging, it was all we needed, a very comfortable 2 BR, 2BA apartment. Rented a Trailblazer, and it got us through the blizzard conditions on Sunday and Tuesday! -- rented through Gold Standard, a local Park City company -- they met us at the airport and drove us back - couldn't have been more convenient. Dinners -- Zoom, wonderful; Zona Rosa, Mexican, very good; Kampai, sushi, really good; Picasso, tapas, also very good; New Years Eve, The Claim Jumper, family- oriented steak place, perfect for what we needed. I visited the Silver Mountain health club and spa -- took Yoga classes, and enjoyed massage, facial etc. A perfect alternative to skiing. All in all, a wonderful trip, enjoyed by all. The only weird thing -- having never been away from the east coast for New Years Eve, we didn't realize we wouldn't experience a &quot;live&quot; version of the ball dropping in Times Square. It was more than a little anticlimactic to realize, say at 10:30pm central time, that the ball-dropping had already occurred, and the most we could hope for was a re-run. Oh well, we didn't stay up for midnight, anyway. So it really didn't matter.
