Dayle - How About Wilson Arch

Dayle,

Thanks for all of your good advice.

How about Wilson Arch? Is it worth the drive compared to the others?

Am I making too much of Arches?

It's a nice arch, especially if you plan on driving that direction to see the Needles district of Canyonlands but there is a reason there is Arches National Park and Wilson Arch isn't in it. How much time will you have to drive the extra 25 miles to visit it? Will you have the time and stamina to hike up to the arch or only view it from the road?

If you have visited Arches National Park then the Wilson Arch, which is attractive, isn't worth the drive unless you are heading that way to Monument Valley.

Wilson Arch is right off the highway. We did Arches NP, then drove to Monument Valley then to Mesa Verde National Park. We did a photo op at Wilson Arch at the roadside pull off. Stopped for maybe 5 minutes. Don't think a hike to the base would improve the view.

I definitely don't rush thru sights. I stop to enjoy the scenery and take photos.

But I also tend to get in everything on my list.

I'm allowing 2-3 days in Arches NP and just trying to make sure I have some extras just in case.

Hi Myer,

Agree with the others, Wilson is an easy road side stop on the way to other places. Nothing too special.
