Day trip to Cleveland

Go Dawgs!

I'll be coming to a Brown's game with a buddy this October. We'll be coming from the Buffalo area with our wives (who have no interest in watching a football game!).

Any suggestions about what Cleveland has to offer the wives on a football Sunday while hubbies are at the Browns game.

Thanks
Capt

Shopping at Tower City, although I'm sure there's lots of shopping in Buffalo. What about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

You can not go to Cleveland and NOT visit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. A beautiful building with fantastic displays. If you love music, you will love this museum. Be prepared to spend a few hours there.

Right nearby the R & R Hall of Fame is the fairly new Cleveland Science Center. I've been in the lobby, but didn't do tour the center because we spent all of our time at the Hall of Fame!! Looked really neat though....

We really enjoyed Cleveland recently. There are many malls, the one in Beachwood (near east side) is nicest (upscale) but found Tower City (downtown) good shopping too and there are lots of restaurants there, too. If its a nice day, you should all have lunch or dinner near or on the water. Its a surprisingly beautiful waterfront. The stadium is lake front, too.

We missed the newly opened Cleveland Botanic Garden, its in the heart of University Circle near the Cleveland Museum of Art and many other museums. About 10 minutes from downtown I think. Those will all be on our next trip I'm sure.

Just to comment on the Science Center, since Cassidy hadn't actually gone through it.. I wouldn't recommend it at all. Unless there will be children going. It's really geared towards kids under 12 imo (and I am a 7th grade Science teacher).
The Omnimax theater is fun though, if there's a good movie playing. You can pay a seperate fee for the theater, instead of having to pay for the center too.

The Botanical Gardens would be wonderful!

You guys are great. Thanks for all the helpful suggestions. We'll definitely do dinner on the waterfront after the game. Any restaurant suggestions --- we don't need anything fancy.

Thanks

We ate lunch on Lake Erie at Hornblowers. Its next to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, which is next to the Stadium, all on Lake Erie. An inside dining room has good views but we ate outside on the upper deck with better views because it was a beautiful sunny day. The WWII sub USS COD is right there, too. Cool area and the food was very good.

The other place recommended to us is about 10 minutes west, called Pier W. Its right on the water too but more upscale.

Have a great time, we really enjoyed Cleveland!

The Art Musuem is terrific. The mall downtown is limited-if shopping is your wives choice-go to Beachwood Place in the burbs. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is also great-all of you may want to check that out.
