Day trip from Maui -- Lanai or BI
 

We'll be in Maui the last week in July. Does anyone have any feedback on day trips to other islands? Is it doable? Is there one island you'd recommend going to over the others? How about Lanai or the Big Island? Appreciate any thoughts.

We have family who did a one-day from Maui to Molokai and enjoyed it. I wouldn't do a day-trip to the Big Island unless you're absolutely dead-set on seeing the volcanoes. In that case, fly from Kahului to Hilo and take a helicopter tour. Not much to do/see on Lanai; mostly people go there to unwind at one of the two resorts.
