Day Spas in NYC
Hello,

Can anyone suggest a good day spa in NYC for a massage or facial? I will be staying in the mid-town area, so something around there would be ideal.

Thanks for your help.

Try Mario Bedescu at 320 E. 52nd or Frederic Fekkai at 15 E. 57th. Badescu is fairly well known for their facials. I really like the atmosphere at Fekkai for massages -- very peaceful and well done.

Sorry, that's Badescu (not Bedescu). Excuse my typo.

Fekkai is great and offers a wide range of spa options.

You might also want to check the spa at the Peninsula Hotel. It's open to non-guests and my friends who have been there loved it.

I like the Avon Spa in Trump Tower on 5th Avenue. It has a very soothing atmosphere, the spa services are great and not too expensive. It isn't old lady-ish and stuffy (a la Eliz Arden) nor so hip you'll feel out of place (a la Bliss).

Be sure to have lunch in the Tea Box at Takashimaya just up the street (5th Ave around 53rd). It is a lovely spot.
