Day parking near Tarrytown train station?

Jump to last reply

On our way from Vt to NC, we'd like to stop and take a day in Manhattan. Since our preference is to use Tappan Zee bridge in early morning to head south, we thought possibly it would make sense to stay in Tarrytown for 2 nights and take the train into the city. However, it doesn't look like there's any (affordable) motels within walking distance of the station, and if memory serves, there's precious little parking near any of the Hudson Valley stations.

Is my memory correct? Or would it be possible for us to find parking space from, say, 9 am to 8-9 pm, somewhere not far from the station. (A long 30-min. walk might be fine in the morning but not when we get back in the evening after walking all over NYC).

Is there a better place than Tarrytown to do this -- elsewhere further up or down the Hudson, or perhaps even on the CT side (Greenwich?) or somewhere else in apron area (Rye, White Plains, etc.)?

Thanks!
