Dance Lessons

Going to visit my boyfriend while in the city (6/28-7/11) and am wondering if there are any places where we can take a dance lesson. He has mentioned his desire to learn how to ballroom dance and the like. Obviously something that was a one or two time deal during that time would be ideal. I think we're looking for something like in the movie Shall We Dance? Do such places actually exhist and how much do they cost?
Thanks

And which city will you be going to?

Have no idea which city... But "such places" most certainly do exist. Single, hour-long group-lessons, in a city, will probably run about $10 each pp, but most likely they will have a six or eight lesson course they will want you to do.

Some resorts also have "ballroom dance" themed weekends, which are really fun. One that comes to mind is the Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, NH.

Yes they absolutely exist and many make their money with young couples in preparation for a wedding (for the first dance etc.). Here are a list of places that happen to advertise in a NY wedding guide

Sorry, New York City...It's pretty much the only place I visit in NY, so to me it is just the city. Oops :)

We didn't even know it was NY, since it appears on a general US board. :) But kusos to mclaurie for giving you the right info that should help you. :D
