Dallas restaurant suggestions please
I am going to be at the Hyatt Regency for 12 days, need suggestions for restaurants nearby. Our bridge game break is from 5-7:30 so any "early bird" specials would in particular be appreciated. Thanks

If my memory is correct, the Hyatt downtown is connected to the big ball in the sky..It has a very nice revolving restaurant on top. This is a great place to watch a sunset...I believe the name is Antares..I'd think a 4 star

The West End district is just a short cab ride away, and there are a lot of places to eat there. I know there are Spaghetti Warehouse, Butcher Block steakhouse, TGI Friday's, On The Border, Lombardi's and The Palm over there. Most of these won't have "early bird" specials, but they will have Happy Hour during the times you mention.
Antares in Reunion Tower is nice for drinks, but the food is REALLY pricey...

McKinney Avenue isn't too far from downtown. That used to be restaurant row, don't know if it still is.
S and D Oyster House is one of our faves. New Orleans style seafood, great seafood, fair prices.
Also try Mexican. It is usually pretty reasonably priced if you stick with the authentic hole in the walls, not the upscale designer margarita type places.
BBQ is usually pretty affordable too; Sonny Bryans, Dickeys. Don't know if these are downtown or not.
Twleve days in downtown Dallas is a long, long time, IMO...Have a good time.

You would probably get much better restaurant reservations for Dallas if you went to the Texas Chowhound site........

There's a Sonny Bryan's BBQ in downtown Dallas. It's right by the West End DART Rail station. Yumm!!!!
For good home cooing at lunch and breakfast, Mama's Daughter and The Purple Onion are down on Industrial Blvd. It's not far from the Hyatt. VERY good food at both places! Unfortunately, they aren't open for dinner...

Thx, I have tried all the links suggested, the problem is they don't tell you how close the restaurant is to where I am. I have also tried the dallasobserver too but for some reason the "downtown/deep Ellum" link doesn't work.
BTW, restaurant.com has a coupon(costs 25 for 50 worth of good) for texas burger and YO Ranch Steakhouse(plus others that are probably further away). I have read that YO Ranch might be worth it. It it is, I should probably purchase several, Any suggestions? Thx

Go to mapquest. Enter the address of the Hyatt. Look at the map. Then choose the option at the top of the page for "restaurant" category and you will get a list of restaurants (with locations on the map) and the distance from the hotel.
One caution - some of the restaurants may not be open for dinner. I was at the Hyatt in downtown Houston recently and was surprised at how many restaurants closed after they served lunch.
Best bet - check with the concierge

There are 54 restaurants less than .60 miles away. Lots to choose from.
The Atlanta Bread company has good sandwiches, salads, and soups - IF they are open for dinner. The Jason's Deli in downtown Houston closed during mid-afternoon.
