Dallas/Fort Worth Trip Report - thanks to ChristieP and others for wonderful tips!!

We just returned from a week in Dallas/Fort Worth with our family. We spent the first two nights in Fort Worth at the Marriott's Residence Inn/River Plaza. This was a wonderful location and right across the street from an upscale shopping area. Thanks, ChristieP. We enjoyed the Kimbell and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and eating at Lucille's and Blue Mesa Grill which was located right across the street.

In Dallas we stayed at the Omni Park West to be close to a relative attending a convention. I had gathered shopping tips here for our teenage daughter which really helped. We visited Grapevine Mills (our 9 yr. old son LOVED the Eurobungy jump in this mall), Galleria (fun to watch the ice skaters), Highland Park Village, Mockingbird Station, shops on Hillcrest near SMU and the Love Field Antique Mall. All were great but we especially loved the antique mall since we are collectors. We ate at Mi Cochina in the Village, Blue Mesa Grill near Galleria (we preferred the Fort Worth location), Cafe Express at Mockingbird Station, and spent our last evening at Texas de Brazil. What an experience!

Forgot to mention that we went to a Texas Rangers game so our son could see his first professional ball game. Hot as heck but a fabulous stadium. We purchased great seats directly from the Rangers via the internet.

All in all, we had a wonderful trip but would stay closer to Mockingbird/Highland Park or downtown area next trip. We ran out of time to visit any Dallas museums so we look forward to our next visit. (DH really enjoyed his weekend of golf with old Dallas buddies at Castle Hills and Northwood.)
