D.C. in a weekend

We will be in D.C. March 10th-12th for our first visit with three kids 11, 9 and 4. What are the must sees? We were fortunate enough to get a White House tour on Saturday and need to plan around that.

Also, maybe National Cathedral or the Zoo.

Really depends on interests and priorities as you don't have a lot of time.

These are just some things that popped in my mind for DC with kids.

There are lots of other things, too.

Have fun!

After your White House tour, walk down Penn Ave towards the Capitol. Stop at the Old Postal Pavilion and do the free tour of the Clock Tower within this magnificent building, the 2nd highest with great views of DC. Within short walking distance you can find Fords Theater, the National Archives, and the Smithsonian Museum of American History. Or sort of reverse thmose if your WH tour is later in the day.

well one idea that may be a bit outside the box is to go see a civil war battlefield-like manassas, which is very close to the 66 freeway and not far from town--if you have a car.

The Postal Museum is "kid" friendly. Shows history of postal service.

Across the street from Union Station.
Union Station has large food court downstairs.

Union Station is about 3 blocks from the Capitol Bldg. On the Red Line (Metro)
