ct and ny fdr the weekend

I am visiting a friend in Stamford for the weekend, we plan on staying in NYC on Sat for the night. Any recommendations on moderate priced hotels for the night along with must do night stops. (20-30 something year olds). Also any advice on Stamford CT must see sites or nightlife? Thanks.

Stamford is a nice place to live, but nothing going on...definitely no sights. I live there. Instead, take the train to NYC and have a wonderful time there.

If the weather is good, go to the Stamford Nature Center and take a walk, and see the small but very nice museum there.

Though NYC museums are more to the point, in Stamford trhere used to be (not sure if still there) a small branch of NYCs Whitney Museum <BR>and the Bruce Museum, a small art and science museum that sometimes has surprising exhibits--for example, a couple of years ago the only NYC venue for photographs by Linda Mccartney was the Bruce

The Whitney Museum in Stamford closed a couple of years ago. The Bruce Museum is in Greenwich, CT and has a web site "brucemuseum.org" for more information. Seems to me that these 20-30 yr olds might find this museum a bit dull.
