Crow Fair in Montana
We will be in the area of the Crow Fair during our visit to Yellowstone in August. I had never heard about it until I did some surfing on the internet. Has anyone here ever gone? If so I would like to hear more about it, especially parking facilities and whether you felt welcome.

Hello Dottie,
You certainly did catch my attention. I posted a reply on th Egypt forum.
I am curious about the suggestions I previously made to you. On which forum was it? Did you go on the trip?

Just in case anyone is interested, we did go to the Crow Fair on August 21 and it was terrific. At 10:00AM, there was a parade on horseback and in full costume and at 1:00 a PowWow with traditional dances was scheduled (we did not stay for this). Food and traditional crafts were sold, too. Most of the spectators (and there were many) were from the Crow and Cheyenne tribes and were having wonderful family reunions. I had been concerned about parking, but it was so unnecessary as once you enter the site you can park anywhere as long as you don't block the roadway. This was not a tourist event but visitors are very welcome. My estimate would be that 5% were non-native Americans. I wish there was a way for me to "push" this event as we thought it was that special. If you do a search you can get more information. All for $5 per person....

I must not have had enough coffee today, but when I read the post I was wondering who in the world would go to a fair in honor of the big black noisy birds that feast on my trash each Monday AM if the raccoons knock the lid off during the night. Now I think I get it - you mean Crow, not crow.
