Hi MelissaBeckoff

Eureka is on Humboldt Bay not the pacific ocean but your right, there is no hotel/motel with a view. If you want a view you must stay at a B&B up in Trinidad (just google trinidad B&B)I have not been to any of them so I can not give you a recommendation. If you do stop in Eureka my in-laws always stay in the Clarion resort and they like it. The Red Lion has just upgraded all their rooms. One thing we have here in Eureka is a lot of good places to eat. Let me know if you want some tips.

Have Fun

Here are some for Trinidad. Turtle Rocks Oceanfront Inn (b&b), View Crest Lodge, cottages "whose private decks offer vistas of the Pacific", Lost Whale Bed & Breakfast Inn"overlooking the Pacific Ocean. These are all on Patrick's Point Drive. My sister lives here. It is very pretty and rural. Patrick's Point State Park is just north of here and worth a visit. You can climb down a flight of stairs to a nice beach for walking.

Don't know how this would fit into your plans, but my favorite place to stay on the Oregon coast is the

See-Vue Motel in Yachats.

they have a website.

Our favorite room is the Crow's Nest.

Good luck!

I really want to stay in Trinidad.but all of the B&B's want two nights.
If I stay two nights in Trinadad
First I am giving up Benbow Inn in Garberville and is there things to do in Trindad for 2 days
alos, how long would the drive to SF be from Trindad?
Thanks
melissa

You COULD make it from Trinidad to SF in one day, but why do it? It means either getting inland and driving straight for SF on I5 or pitching your way perilously around a million curves on Highway 1/101 and hoping that you might arrive in SF in total darkness.

Plan one stop along the way. You really need to enjoy the Northern Californian coast!

The B&B's in Trinidad are VERY espensive. Not worth it, in my opinion, although the views are great. We stayed once at Turtle Rocks and regretted paying the almost $200 a nigh price. If I were you, I would stop in Trinidad to see the beach views, stop in Eureka to see the Carson Mansion, then head down to the Benbow Inn and spend two nights there, seeing the redwoods, etc. You can easily get from Crescent City to Garberville in one day.

Yes, I agree with renaissance man. The Benbow Inn is historic (meaning been there a long time <g>) My sister spent a high school summer working there, a long, long, time ago. But it used to be charming, and they will have great ideas for things to do in the area.

Anyone? How did that funny face get into my post? Which key did I accidentally press?
