Crater lake park

Worthwhile?

Absolutely!!!

Absolutely no way to tell since you've given us NO info at all. Where are you traveling from? It can be quite a detour depending on where you are. And when? Access is severely limited much of the year due to snow.

If you post one word questions you most likely won't get useful advice . . .

Ditto.

Ever bit as stunning as the Grand Canyon, IMOP. I've been to most of the national parks in the West. Only Crater Lake and Grand Canyon gave me that really shock and awe moment at my first view of it. The rest of them I enjoyed the more I stayed. It is also worth spending an entire day there and spending the night at the Lodge. I would suggest taking the boat to Wizard Island and enjoy an impromptu picnic there.

Put it on your route. Incredible. :)

Where have you been since 2005 when you joined Fodors?
Coming in from California or Portland or elsewhere?

It depends on when too. We were there in May one year and all we saw was snow.
