Where to eat in Santa Fe on Labor Day holiday weekend
My husband and I have a short visit in Santa Fe over Labor day weekend. We arrive Sat. Aug. 30 and leave Tuesday Sept. 2. I already know many restaurants in SF are usually closed on Sundays but will a lot also be closed Monday on the Labor Day holiday?
I need some suggestions for Sunday and Monday night dinners for casual restaurants. I already called Clafoutis and they will be closed Sept. 1.

We ate lunch at Taberna last Sunday and it too was vey nice. La Boca is also open.

Actually, there are quite a few places open both Sunday and Monday. Have you used opentable to check?

I don't know if you have a car or if you'll walk the plaza area for dining so I'll toss in both for casual dining:
Tune-Up Cafe - just off the plaza a few minutes by car. Quirky, fun spot with great food.
The Shed (closed Sunday) in the plaza - great traditional New Mexican; takes rezzies for dinner
La Choza - sister to The Shed but out of the plaza area (closed Sunday)
Harry's Roadhouse (south on Old Pecos Trail)
Chez Mamou - French cafe spot just east of the plaza on Palace before you get to Paseo de Peralta (not sure about the holiday weekend hours)
Coyote Cantina - upstairs, outdoor dining in the plaza. Casual food
Cowgirls - not my favorite but it's a busy spot
La Boca & Taberna - Spanish tapas. Can make reservations at both. Sister restaurants. La Boca is more upscale but still casual.
Del Charo - in plaza.
Rio Chama
Upper Crust Pizza - in plaza area across from Pink Adobe
Il Piatto - in plaza area across from La Boca
Jambo Cafe - fabulous ethnic food
Not sure of some for Monday but call to check if it sounds like what you want.
