Courtyard Times Square S... or Grand Hyatt?
 

I'm trying to decide between staying at the Courtyard Times Square South hotel and the Grand Hyatt hotel. I'm using frequent flyer miles to purchase hotel vouchers, so my choices are limited.

I'm planning a 4-day trip over a weekend in July with my Husband and 19-year old son.

The most important factors for me are comfortable bedding, good temperature control, well-kept rooms, and a good location.

The Courtyard Times Square costs 25% less in miles and includes breakfast for 2.

Any input?

If you read the reviews on tripadvisor, the Courtyard gets raves and the Hyatt seems to be a disappointment once you get past the lobby. I think the Courtyard sounds like a better bet for you.

Def the Courtyard would be my choice. Have a terrific time!

I try to stay at this Courtyard for my frequent business trips to New York. I like it because of its' location - its easy to walk to lots of great places. Also for its' quietness at nite - the windows keep out a lot of street noise that you get at other hotels. The breakfast buffet is standard Marriott but they do make eggs to order. This is a popular spot with some NYC police for breakfast - I always see 3 or 4. There's non stop coffee in the lobby which is always nice to have. The concierge desk staff are a huge help as well.On the down side, the rooms are somewhat small as most are in NYC.

Since both are decent hotels and both locations are equally convenient (or not, depending on what you'll be doing), I'd let the determining factor be the fewer number of miles. Go withthe Courtyard.
And, the free breakfast is an added plus.

Thank your for your input, sounds like we can't go wrong either way. We may choose Hyatt, because if we can't get 2 beds, they have room for rollaway, and I know that at Hyatts, the rollaway is pretty comfy. I'll let you know how it was when we get back if anyone is interested.
