Courtyard or Milford Plaza
 

I will be going to New York in October with my husband and daughter for 5 nights. I have booked at both of these hotels but have read some very concerning reviews about Milford. I did also read that it is being renovated. Milford is about $500 less for the time than the Courtyard. Appreciate opinions. I don't mind small but do mind dirty/dingy. It's been about 6 years since I've been to NYC and I've been blown away by the hotel costs.

When we stayed at the Milford Plaza, we thought it was fine. For a theater weekend, the location was great. The room was adequate--and clean. The front desk staff were very helpful, and we felt safe there.

Which Courtyard?

I stayed at the Milford once and had no issue with it. Yes, there may be a tiny flaw here or there, but that may happen at a Courtyard too. Especially with a $500 difference... I say stay at the Milford.

Friends stayed at the Milford recently and I was able to visit their room. The room was neat and clean--not dingy in any way. It WAS as small as I had been led to expect from all the reviews. Their room had two double (or perhaps queen) beds. The space between around beds--between the beds themselves and to the walls a dressers--was no more than 18 inches.
