Couple Hours in City
I will be in NYC tomorrow, near 100 W. 55th Street, on business. Flying back at 6pm. Any suggestions on what do in the afternoon in that area before my flight. Its my first time in NYC.

You'll be an easy strol from both Times Square (7th Ave bet 42nd & 47th Sts) and Rockefeller Center (5th-6th Ave bet 48th & 50th Sts). You can stroll up or down 5th Avenue and see famous shops. Even though it will be daylight, Times Square neon will be glowing. If your flight is at 6 PM, be sure to allow plenty of time, even by taxi, to get to your airport. The evening rush begins 3:30-4:00pm.

The Soup Nazi from Seinfeld is at 259 West 55th street between Bdwy and 8th. It is take out. The lobster bisque is to die for. Some soup for you?

You'll only be a few blocks south of Central Park. That's my recommendation. It's a beautiful time to visit...lots of flowers and trees are in bloom. Also, there's the small (though often interesting) Central Park Zoo near the southeast corner of the park.

Ok I am back. What a town. After my meeting was over at 12:15, I headed south on Ave of Americas (6th) down to around 32nd street, then headed west to Broadway, up through times square and stopped at Central Park South. Had some NY Pizza on the way up and saw the letterman theater etc. Once at Central Park I headed east by the plaza hotel and went to FAO Schwatz to buy some stuff for my kids. Then I headed south on 5th Avenue to well south of 41st Street. Then I headed north on Madison Avenue to Grand Central. Saw the Empire State Building on the way. Left for LGA around 3:30 and had plenty of time to get on my 5:30 flight. By the way the Soup Nazi is closed for the summer.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the Big Apple...even if your stay was rather short.
