Costco & Walmart Prices in Maui
 
We are traveling to Maui (family of 5) in August and I've just found out they have a Coscto and Walmart near the airport. Any ideas on food prices as compared to California? Is 10-20% more a reasonable guess?

We went to the Walmart in Kauai and the prices seemed about the same to me--I live in NC. but not sure if they are the same in Maui we did not go to that one.

We went to Maui last January and had heard about how prices were higher. We shopped at Safeway and didn't really notice any difference (we are from San Francisco). I can't imagine Costco or Walmart pricing would be that different from Safeway.

If its any help, Alaska is also expensive and I went to an isolated town accessible only by air and sea. The prices were reasonable.
