Cost to get from Trenton airport to Philadelphia

Hi guys,

I was looking at taking a trip to Philadelphia, and I see some great flight deals going into Trenton...what is my best and cheapest method (and approximate cost) of going to and from the Trenton airport into center city Philadelphia and the surrounding areas?

Thanks in advance for your help!

There's an airport in Trenton? Do you mean Newark?

i have only used my own car to go to the Trenton airport but I found this info on the website. Maybe someone else can report on personal experience.

>>The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) connects Trenton and West Trenton to Center City Philadelphia for approximately $11. Check current rates, schedules, and delays at www.septa.org/welcome or by calling SEPTA at 215-580-7800.

>>Taxi and limousine service from the Trenton-Mercer Airport to the Trenton Train Station is available; taxi rates to the station are approximately $35, West Trenton Station for approximately $8.

"Contact information for taxi companies and limos licensed by Ewing Township are listed below, and can also be found near the public telephones inside the passenger terminal. You can also find information on the web at www.taxifarefinder.com/main.php?city=Trenton-NJ. Confirm rates with driver prior to utilizing any taxi or limousine service."

The trip from Trenton, NJ to Philadelphia, PA will cross state lines. I suspect a hefty surcharge will be added to the standard rate since a NJ taxi may not be able to pick up a fare in Philadelphia. This is true for taxis trips from NYC to Newark Airport.

I would research SEPTA service to Philadelphia from the West Trenton station. If times work for you, take a taxi from the airport to the West Trenton station.
SEPTA ~$11; taxi ~$8 + tip

I live 10 mins from the Trenton airport. I always see taxis right outside the airport who can take you to the West Trenton Septa train station. You pay for your ticket on board as there are no ticket machines to pay for the tickets. The train goes to Philly as you will be at the start of the route. The car ride is less than 8 mins but way too far to walk.

Thanks for all of the advice guys. After doing some further research, there are some flights into PHL airport that are pretty close in price...would that be a better option?

Certainly more convenient, and less expensive--

Yes -- there's direct rail from the airport to Center City, at a cost of $8. Faster, cheaper, and less hassle with luggage -- the Septa Airport Line is for airport travelers, the Trenton Line is for commuters.
