Cosmos New England Coast Spotlight

I've been looking at this itinerary for next year. Has anyone taken this tour? I've traveled with Cosmos several times and I've been satisfied. I am particularly interested in what travelers think about this tour because it is new.

Personally, I feel the "New England Coast" starts above Boston, and goes UP. Starting in Boston and going south wouldn't be my choice.

Well, I like the fact that you'll go to Nantucket and Newport on this tour, and that you have free time in Boston.
The other two New England tours hit northern coastal areas, but seem to go at a serious clip! If it's your only visit, however, it would be a shame to miss southern Maine (such as Ogunquit and Kennebunkport) and Portsmouth, NH. Could you do the Fall Foliage tour, but add Newport, RI on independently? From where are you coming? And what season of next year?

Its a pretty darn good itinerary for Southern New England. You'll be hitting most of the highlights - I like all the ferry traveling you'll be doing. You can't come to NE and not get out on the water. And I would like you to have the time to explore the National Seashore on Cape Cod rather than just drive by it. And of course Long Island is not New England but still very nice to visit.

Its true that you'll be missing Northern NE but its nearly impossible to get all of NE in one trip. I've lived here all my life and there are still plenty of places for me to explore.

Enjoy your trip.

Hi: Thanks for your responses.

I'm from North Carolina and planning to take this tour in the fall of 2004. I've practically memorized the itinerary. I might fly in early and spend extra time in Boston. I chose this tour because I've always wanted to see the New England coast. I usually take a tour because I like being catered to on my vacation. Thanks for your input. Because of your responses, I believe I'll take two separate tours in order to see it all. I seen northern France last year and plan to go back and tour the south.

Seems kind of impossible to say one has "seen the New England coast" while totally omitting the rocky coast of Maine. But then, perhaps I'm biased. ;)
