Cooperstown Dreams Park is a place for boys 12 and under to compete in a week long tournament of baseball. There is an opening ceremony, closing ceremony, fireworks and of course the final game. Each boy is given an official Cooperstown ring, and uniforms. Pin trading is the hightlight for the boys and many of the adults as well. Anyone who has been there will tell you that it is a once in a lifetime experience. The area is immaculate, the concession stands and shops are reasonable (unlike Disney) and the food is fresh, healthy and tasty. It's all about baseball. The boys stay in a barracks with their coaches. I will post pictures when I have some time. Many grandparents and other family members attend, staying at facilities outside of the park. The area is absolutely beautiful and not crowded at all. The park itself is designed to handle the spectators in a way that makes it seem uncrowded. If you google it, as many have, you can read about all that is offered. This past week there were 98 teams from the US and Canada. Each week is basically the same, with different teams. To see the joy on the kids' faces is something to behold. Winning is not emphasized overall. I hope that more people get a chance to explore the Dreams Park.
