Cooking demonstrations/schools

Hi all,

I will be in NYC 10 days over Thanksgiving and would like to do attend a cooking demonstration. I read about one at the Waldorf (but can't remember where) where you spend a few hours in the kitchen with chef. I checked their website but can't find details. Does anyone know of this or similar?

I like the idea of being in one of the great hotel kitchens or some specialty store - I don't want to spend more than a few hours/half a day at most. There is so much I want to cram in.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Check out the schedule at
http://www.astorcenternyc.com/people.ac
pricey, but really good people

or try:
http://www.degustibusinc.com/
Which doesn't seem to be a good link, but maybe it will work for you - it's the cooking demos/school at Macy's - they have a GREAT list/calendar of people coming up over the next 6 months.

And finally, try
http://www.frenchculinary.com/news_newsevents.htm which sometimes has half day classes

mp, thanks for posting this. Although the Macy's link doesn't work, I found quite a few others that did. We're planning a Sept trip and thought something like this would be fun. Thanks baysidegirl for starting the thread.
