Conway/ White Mountains
I will be traveling to the Conway area for a weekend stay in late October/ early November.
Can you suggest activites for that particular time of year? We have visited mostly in the winter or summer months in the past and would appreciate any suggestions you might have for new things we can try. Easy hikes would be great. Thanks! |
Conway, Arkansas?

This is such a general question that I was reluctant to respond.
First off, search this site for NH or New Hampshire. There are a number of strings concerning the North Conway area. One quickie is to make reservations for the Conway Scenic Railroad. Find on GOOGLE. As foliage season you should make early reservations for lodging. Also pack a lunch and take the tram up Wildcat Mtn for awesome views. Hike Mt. Moat, play golf, etc... mm |
This will be after foliage season, when the area is pretty quiet. Besides shopping, I suggest you check the Conway area C of C site (http://www.mtwashingtonvalley.org/) and look for suggestions, then call ahead. Some places may be closed to prepare for the ski season. Also, regarding hiking, check out the AMC NH site (http://www.amc-nh.org/). Remember that the weather can turn nasty very quickly at this time of year.

gc, you are correct re: foliage. I did not read/see the 'early Nov' part.
Sorry. mm |
This is bambi and bullwinkle season. Be sure to pack some blaze orange for any hikes in the woods.

A nice, easy hike is the walk to Diana's Baths. A wooded trail leads about a half mile through the woods to a very pretty series of waterfalls that you can walk along for a ways. Ask at your hotel or at the visitor's center for directions.
