Convertible for coastal OR trip in September?

Planning to go to the OR coast Sept 21-26. Will it be convertible weather?

Depends on your definition of convertible weather :) If you wont have a lot of luggage - I'd get the convertible. It may not be super warm, but as long as it isn't raining, I love a convertible.

If you do get a convertable, just be sure all your luggage can fit in the trunk. There will be many pull outs where you'll stop to get out of your car, and also do some hikes and short walks, etc.

Most likely it will be good weather for one, but this IS Oregon, so you never really know;) The trunk thing is a good point. We have a convertible with the tiniest trunk ever. So just check and see what vehicles are options and make sure it will work for you. Worst case you have bad weather and can't have the top down. It will still be a good trip:)

...and make sure it has a good heater. :)

bbqboy--That is true, lol! DH had the top down a couple weeks ago, but the heather going full force.

We pack light so a small trunk is not a problem. Guess I will reserve a convertible, and then depending on the weather report a few days before we leave, can always change it to a compact for a lower rate.

Depends on what you call convertible weather...Here's a link to average temps:

If you think temps in the mid to low 60's are okay for a convertible, you will be fine. Bring a good coat and hat.

My husband and I both drive convertibles (we're 30 miles north of Phoenix) all year round (except for the summer). As long as the sun is out, we consider it convertible weather.

There's nothing like a drive along the coast with the top down, so hopefully we will have good weather in Sept.
