Continental Flt 1-Houston to HNL

I am trying to book an interisland flight based on the on-time arrival of Continental Flt 1 (Houston to Honolulu). Does this flight have a good on-time arrival record?

Flightstats.com rated it as "very good". Close to 80% of flights in July/August on-time. Only 6% very late or excessively late.

One reason is that the plane it uses come in from HNL as CO2 at 7am. And that flight's usually early as well. With 2.5 hours between flight, there's lot of chance to catch up, even if the plane comes in late.

Second is that delays at IAH that early is rare. There are now enough runways at IAH to avoid congestions, and afternoon thunderstorms usually happen, er, in the afternoon. ;)

Well, that explains why we had to wait six hours to get out of Houston to continue to Louisville after coming in on the HNL flight. It was afternoon!

We managed to hit the occasional morning storm in June. Missed our flight out of Houston to Honolulu and were placed on standby for later flight. We just made it on the later flight, and it caused major problems with connection to Maui. We finally arrived about 7 hours later than originally planned. It was really a bad beginning to our vacation, but thankfully all else was wonderful. Good luck with your flight choice.

sherrie - You missed the flight, meaning CO1 departed more or less on-time, despite the storm. ;)

True enough. The flight from Houston departed on time, but getting to Houston was tricky. Assuming MLMCVM may be arriving Houston and connecting as we did. That was my point.

We've flown #1 several times over the years, always prefer this one, since it's non-stop, therefore less chance of losing luggage. We've done both bus. class and economy. Flt attendants in economy sometimes are surly, but always received good service in Business
