I answered re ComicCon in your other thread. I've been there during ComicCon and crowds were confined to the Convention Center area. I wouldn't let that drive my decision.

Glad to hear it! So much to do in both areas- I didn't want you to shortchange one or the other:) have fun.

My former roommate from Vancouver BC went on a Contiki tour, and she mentioned that her experience was that most of the people were heavily partying (she wasn't into it). Perhaps every tour group has it's own vibe.

@Creative_Kari I ended up decided to do this trip on my own, alone. Because so many help from fodorites to shape up my 1st trip to West Coast. Roughly it's gonna be like this:
Arrive LAX, go straight away to SD spend 4 days there then go Anaheim spend 4 days there and then go to LA spend 6 days in LA then fly to LV, spend 4 days in Vegas, gonna do GC from Vegas then fly to SF gonna do Yosemite on my own or short trip tour to Yosemite from SF, spend 5 days in SF then fly back to Jakarta via SFO. |
FYI - If you "do" GC (Grand Canyon) from Vegas, just be forewarned that if you do a helicopter flight, you will NOT be going to Grand Canyon National Park, but Grand Canyon West. It still is the Grand Canyon, but it is on Indian Tribal land, no where near as spectacular as the NP. It is geared for Vegas travelers who do not want to spend the time and effort to go to the south rim.
It is your trip, but for me that's way too much time in cities. The National Parks of the west and southwest are spectacular. |
@Gilbert56 I'm so aware that this is kinda 'too much' city trip, but since this is like my 1st time to US, I also wanna see much of the city. Up until now, mini camping trip to NP is still kinda ON for me, still researching best itinerary, routes and trip length, coz I only have like roughly a month there (any longer and I think my boss will just told me to not going back at all LOL)
But I'm sure will be back next year to do East Coast :D So, Las Vegas, since I decided to go on my own I am considering options of hotel there, I'm torn between ARIA (Good Review, Good Location), Trump Hotel (Cheaper, got Free Shuttle!), The Signature at MGM (Cheaper, Good Location). Do you have any advice which one I should stay for 3 nights? Also, all-you-can-eat buffet Restaurant in Vegas, which one's the best? Spa, which one's the best in Vegas? |
