connecting flight HELP
 

WE ARE FLYING FROM BRADLEY TO ATLANTA TO ORLANDO. WHAT DO WE DO, JUST GET OFF ONE PLANE AND FIND THE TERMINAL FOR THE NEXT FLIGHT OR DO WE NEED TO GO THROUGH CHECK IN AGAIN AND ALL OF THAT? WE ARE USING DELTA FOR THE WHOLE JOURNEY. WHAT ABOUT OUR LUGGAGE?

When you check in at Delta in Connecticut they will check your luggage through to Orlando - you do not touch it again until you reach Orlando. You will get a boarding pass for each flight. When you land in Atlanta, go to the new gate - you should not have to pass through security again - give them the boarding pass, and get on the next flight. They will post on the monitors what gate that is and they may also announce it on the flight or have someone at the gate to help you. Something to think about - (I am assuming you do not fly a great deal), there probably will not be any food service on either flight and you may not be able to find much of anything to buy between flights within the security area - so bring food. (Just a friendly note - if you type in all caps, some people get annoyed because it is "shouting")

You won't have to go through security again in Atlanta. Gail's advice about food is a good, But, you will be able to have a choice of food places within the secure area in the Atlanta Airport. Admittedly, not fine dining, but what do you expect at airports?

Do not rely on the agent at the gate to give correct gate info. Be sure and check reader board in terminal. From experience. Incorrect info.

Depending on how long your layover is, be sure to "find" your gate in Atlanta BEFORE you go in search of food. Atlanta is a very large and busy airport (possibly the busiest in the US) so it can take a while to get to your gate. They have a tram system to move people from around more quickly, but they can also be very crowded. Find your gate first, then explore in your gate's vicinity.

In Atlanta, there are several terminals that are separate buildings. To get from one to the other, you go underground to the tram or walkway then go back up to the terminal you need. It does take some time so eating after you find your new gate is a good idea. Hopefully, you will be in the same terminal but odds are you won't be.

The food courts on the center of A & B concourses have the best food choices...your DL flight could arrive/depart from T concourse or D or even E concourse.If you have extra layover time..more than 1hr 1/2...you might want to ride the train to baggage claim and eat/shop in the atrium..even more choices....thanks for going DL!
