Condo on Maui
Hi all-
Looking for a studio or 1 bdroom condo in West Maui for our honeymoon. Would love some recommendations versus just going off www.vrbo.com Ideally, no more than 130 a night with a/c... Any recs? Thanks in advance! |
$130 a night is very low. What time of year?
|
September (around the 9th or 10th)...
I've seen prices around this amount since it's the off-season. Any recs? Thanks! |
Just booked it! Yay! West side, 105/night and a/c! :)
|
Don't hold out on us...with whom???
|
We just paid $140 per night for a one bedroom #422 at Kahana Reef from Quan Properties.
It is OCEANFRONT and totally renovated. No airconditioning but we didn't need it! |
We stayed at the Hale Kai - www.halekai.com - and loved it. It does not have A/C but it has balconies on one side and Louvred (spelling) doors on the other so we were able to get a comfortable cross breeze.

ellaphant: When a place has an $85 cleaning fee, I total that into the cost.
$105+85= $190. For that, actually $185, we stayed at Maui Kai (no cleaning fee & does have a/c) and were very happy - Lots of perks! Also, a 60 day cancellation notice is extreme, in my book. Please let us know how you liked the place upon your return. |
OSB, she wouldn't pay that $85 cleaning fee every day, just once, so if her honeymoon is seven nights, that would work out to about $117 per day. :) I do think that no refund, no matter what, if you cancel less than 60 days ahead is too harsh, and would have prevented me renting from them. It looks like a nice condo though. Have a great honeymoon, ellaphant!

Try the poolside rooms at Napili Sunset.
It's also called the internet special. www.napilisunset.com |
Oh, of course your math is correct...I'm in too much of a rush these days before my trip!
However, that $185 was for a 1 bedroom, a/c with a balcony...actually two balconies one on the side and one directly facing the ocean. They had free capucinno downstairs each AM, laundry areas on each floor and boogie boards/chairs/coolers to borrow. Large pool (not oceanside) and covered BBQ area. Large Hot Tub (the size of some small swimming pools) and a library/game/activity room that opened up to the pool area with sliding glass doors all across the front. I do hope you have wonderful trip! I really don't think you can have a bad time in HI!!!! |
Hi all-
Yes, the 85 is a one time cleaning fee. It's not every night. If it was every night, that would've killed me! hehehe As for the no refund, that doesn't bother me too much. For us to cancel this honeymoon, something tragic would have to happen, and I wouldn't give it a second thought...meaning, I probably would have other things to worry about. After all the wedding planning, we're going...even if we have to walk to Cali and swim the rest of the way! hehehe They seem like really nice people as they have been in touch with us daily with things to do, see, etc, etc. The reviews have been nothing but postive on a few different websites they advertise on...and what REALLY got me is our time is the last week they had free is September. They are booked SOLID until Feb of 08! Wow! I can't wait to go! :) |
OSB, we're Maui Kai fans too (#402) but they've all gone up so much in the last couple of years.
|
pspercy: We were in 208 a couple years ago. I thought it was great! The people were very accommodating! Anything you needed was there - without pretense - my style!
