Condo Kauai

Looking for the best value in a 2br waterfront condo in Kauai.

We tried two condos on our trip in Sept. The ones at Hanalei Bay Resort were okay, nothing spectacular inside. The view was the best part. I would recommend Whalers Cove. Rates were comparable, and the location is unbeatable esp. if you snorkel. The primo south shore snorkel location is right off the parking lot. It was very small complex so it was quiet, the condos were very luxurious, including a jacuzzi tub and right on the ocean. We wish we stayed there the whole time. Check out Wizardpub.com for location maps.

Like Beth I also stayed at Whalers Cove and often my mind drifts back to our wonderful stay there. We had a second floor condo in building 1 which allowed unobstructed views of the ocean. The individual condos are quite nice and we got a better deal through Suite Paradise than through Premier Resorts. There is also a first floor condo available on line from an owner for $250 per night at: http://www.kauairentals.com/whalerscove.html

"Best Value" condos may include the few located on the Coconut Coast from Wailua on down to Kapaa. Wailua Bayview, Kapaa Sands, LaniKai, Lae Nani, etc.

At Suzie's rec, we drove by The Whalers Cove last year and thought if we ever stay on the So'shore again, we'd probably stay there. Looked nice, secluded and great ocean views.

We stayed down the road a bit at the Prince Kuhio and while it was nice and the price was right, there are much better places in the Poipu area.

Happy T'giving Suuuuuuz...33 to go. I can taste the saimin already!
Kal

Hey Kal I was wondering wher the countdown was. I read the warm clothing post and it was missing. Perhaps and oversight?

Just got back from Maui on Fri night. Love this fog and the leaves that had gathered on the lawn. Didn't the wind blow at all last week?

Have a good t'ging yourself, Off to Napa?

Wow, nice spelling in my post. Hope you can decipher it.

Just to stay on topic gt, Suite Paradise has many other condo choices besides Whalers Cove. They seem to have some of the lower prices than other packagers. Good Luck. Check them out at suite-paradise.com. During my research for our trip IO found a nice ocean facing condo called Poipu Kapili. Very nice place but there is a well travelled road and a rock wall between the condo and the ocean so be careful when they say ocean front!

Kal,
Not Hawaiian as a transfer is required in Hon and that would have put us in Maui early evening. Direct flight Aloha from OAK arrived around 11:30.

Awesome morning, it's supposed to be great weather the next few days. Lucky you!
