condo for 6 hawaii

We are a group of 6 friends planning to travel to Hawaii this summer. We are looking for a great place to stay on a beach. A house or condo would be ideal. We are not to picky about which isalnd we travel to. There are so many websites and choices I was hoping someone could help to narrow things down a bit. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Which island?

What is your budget for lodging?

What are your expectations?

try www.vrbo.com rentals by owner.
We got a great place on the BI for 3 couples thru an agency. Was a 3 bed 3 bath unit on the golf course, walk about 3-5 minutes to A-Bay beach. Very reasonable when sharing costs.

Also, you may want to type "which island" in the search box and select Hawaii....many threads will come up to help you decide which island you want. Each island has a wide variety of activities (or not), sights, and cultural features.

The Whaler on Kaanapali Beach would be worth looking into.

The Kaanapali Ali'i is nicer, but is generally out of your price range.

Kaanapali Shores

Wailea Elua

There are some nice rental homes on/near Lanikai and Kailua Beach on Oahu in that price range.

if your looking for the night life, Oahu is the Island for you. Try pulling up "Waikiki penthouse" on the inernet. I know that theres a penthouse that would be great for you and your party. If your looking for a kick back and relax kind of vacation then Maui is perfect. Not too fast and not to slow. I'd suggest Kaanapali or Kihei these places have a lot of homes or condos that would accomodate you and your party.

If you want more nightlife and entertainment in addition to the beaches and restaurants, Oahu would be the island for you. Try vrbo.com or hicentral.com for the vacation rentals.

As already mentioned, I would decide which island most interests you... then look for a place to stay from there.

Trying to find a condo looking at ALL the islands and ALL the various areas of each of them seems an unnecessarily daunting task.

Lots to do on Oahu. Many of the sites on the link are good for all islands:

http://fodors.com/forums/threadselec...1&tid=34812564

Don't wait too long to make reservations as summer is peak tourist season. Prices are higher & most units already taken.

www.visit-oahu.com Free brochure. They have over 400 websites for lodging, restaurants & attractions in the brochure & on their site. Click on: OVB Yellow Pages

Resortquest Waikiki Sunset has decent 2 bedroom condos. About 1 block from the beach.

Kailua/Lanikai area & North Shore area will have some beach houses.

We stayed in unit 220 at the Hale Kai in Maui and it could accomodate 6. www.halekai.com We loved it but you should know that it is not air conditioned. It got good cross-breezes so we were comfortable.
