Concord, NH lodging suggestions

Can anyone suggest a hotel, inn or b&b for an overnight stay in Concord, NH or near to that area? A moderately priced, clean place in a safe area would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Topping more than anything because my info is 2 years old.

As I was researching the area there seemed to be very few lodging options.

I think it may be pricier then moderate, but I stayed at the Centennial Inn the fall of 2002. It's a lovely restored building that used to be a retirement home for nurses or something like that.

It's within walking distance of the state capitol. My Dad and I walked back to the hotel after dark and never felt uncomfortable.

Dinner at the hotel was expensive but very good. There was a restaurant called the Barley House or something similar right across from the capitol. It had less expensive very good sandwich fare.

Concord is a small town. It's hard to even think of it as a city with only 40,000 or so inhabitants. It has a quaint downtown and a little museum to go through.

Near the Mass/NH border is one of Budweiser's breweries. Not only do they have a free brewery tour, but it's one of the (I think) four that has Clydesdale horses on site. It's a pretty park-like setting and the horses are beautiful.

You'll have to look on their web site to see where they're located. My Dad and I were tired of interstate driving. We just got off on a state highway and there it was. I asked about the lack of signs. A guide said they weren't allowed to advertise due to NH laws.

The Hampton Inn in Bow, NH is on the So. Concord line and right at the intersection of Rt. 93 and Rt. 89. It is reasonably priced, comfortable, and includes a decent breakfast.
Most of Concord is relatively "safe," and there are many hotels through-out the area. As long as you're not travelling in foliage season, you should have no problem taking your pick!

The Holiday Inn is located at the corner of Bridge St and North Main. If you stay there you are within walking distance of the State Capitol, NH History Museum and a nice downtown shopping area. I also like the Barley House for casual eating. Downtown closes early except on First Fridays of each month.
There's a Best Western Inn and a Comfort Inn on Hall Street. Both back up to Rt 93. They might be fine but you would have to drive to restaurants. Concord is a pretty safe small city but Hall Street is not particularly scenic. A Fairfield Inn looks out on Rt 93 and you could walk to the Common Man Restaurant. The cheapest rates might be at the Red Roof Inn on Rt 106 in Loudon. It's a fairly busy highway near the Steeplegate Mall and chain restaurants but convenient to Rt 393 and Rt 4.

I can second the Hampton Inn in Bow, a few miles south of Concord. Good location if you are hoping on/off one of the interstates; clean & good service.

Thank you so much to everyone for the information. I will be passing through there during foliage season so I guess I'd better get a jump on it. They clydesdales sound fun. I really appreciate the suggestions and also feel reassured that everyone feels it is generally a safe area. If anyone else has suggestions they'd be well received. Happy travels to everyone!

The Budweiser Brewery is in Merrimack NH just south of Manchester off the Everett Turnpike also known as Route 3. They offer a very nice free tour of the brewery with samples at the end. You can enter the stables, pat the horses and walk the grounds. At certain times, they take a horse out for pictures with the kids. All is free and it's about 20 miles south of Concord.
