Concerns about Miami priceline hotel - advice pls!

We have 'won' the Tudor Hotel and Suites via Priceline for our forthcoming trip in December. I am a bit concerned having read some bad reviews about this place, and am thinking that it might be better to forego what we have already paid, and book into somewhere better! PL rates the hotel as a 3*, so I am thinking of one of the South Beach 4* instead.

I know we pay our money and take our chance with PL and maybe the hotel will be ok, we are only staying there for 2 nights as part of our stay, but I don't want it to ruin our holiday.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I've not stayed there but I can give you this advice.

The hotel is right in the middle of everything 1/2 block off the beach. There are no ocean front hotels in that area.

When you check in, very very politely but firmly let the front desk know you will be inspecting your room before you accept your accommodations.

Do know that you will not be getting the penthouse on a priceline rate but you are entitled to a clean room with one bed and a clean bathroom.

The hotel has also been recently renovated.

Stop wigging out. You will be fine.

As a regular user of Priceline I never book a hotel for more than two days, if the spot is good, great, if not I look at the www.biddingfortravel.com site and see what are the other places I could get, check them out one morning and rebid while on vacation.

Only bid on zones and star levels where it is likely you will get a nice hotel that will not ruin your hard earned vacation.

GoTravel - my partner also thinks we should check in and if it is awful we could go elsewhere. I have just read some more reviews and only one out of nine is positive!

Travelerq - I don't think the Tudor has come up before, well not according to biddingfortravel anyway, so it was a bit of a surprise, any of the others previously won would have been fine! I thought I had done my homework but we never know with PL!

As I stated, before you accept your accommodations, check them out.
