Computer Help Needed

I managed to screw up the settings of my Fodor's message board.

I get all messages in huge letters on the left - and if I click on a thread it will also be shown in huge letters.

This makes the page fairly unreadable.

Please, how can I switch back to normal sized fonts ?

If using Internet Explorer click on "view" for the drop down. Then move the cursor to "text size." I have mine set at "medium."

A short cut (and how this might have happened in the first place) is hold the "ctrl" key down and spin your mouse wheel. The text size will go up and down.

Hi hsv, oh boy, I am certainly not any computer expert but I "think" if you click on Tools, then click on Internet Options, and then click on Fonts this MIGHT solve your problem. Hopefully someone here with more knowledge then I can absolutely advise you what to do.

I didn't know that shortcut indytravel! kewl

The things we can learn from each other! I read a post from someone who needed help because he couldn't type the long url someone gave for photos into the address bar!! It was too long. He wondered if there wasn't an easier way. Yikes. I figured everyone knew that one by now, but ya never know.

OO, I never type them in, highlight, ctrl-c, click in the address box, ctrl-v

This should copy the longest address. Then just click on Go. And GoTravel :)

Thanks everybody. Sorted everything out.
Funny thing is that I did not even access the "view" menu. Must be some shortcut by repeatedly pressing <ctrl>. I don't know - at least everything works again.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Just don't press ctrl-alt-del twice :))

Hi Faina...it wasn't me, it was someone else. I was pretty surprised there was anyone left who didn't know how to do it. I use a different techinque from you though. Highlight, right click "copy", then right click "paste" where I want it.

I am a computer moron... I'll admit it.
Stuff like this happens to me all the time and generally it is due to me "FAT FINGERING" the keyboard.
That term just killed me when the geeks here in the office mentioned it, but it is just so true.
Thanks for the tips... I had no clue.

All of the above tips are wrong - from one computer moron to another, the real reason is that your computer has been taken over by aliens. This happens to our home computer all the time. My husband or son are able to make the aliens go away by rolling their eyes and sighing when I show them the problem.

Then they yell at me to leave the room, while they perform some sort of computer exorcism to scare the aliens away. These aliens only attack when I am using the computer.

LOL, Gail!!! That's exactly how it works in my house too :D
