Comparison:: Bienville House & Dauphine Orleans

Any thoughts about either place. Both are oferring superior doubles for $119 for the period of my visit. I've read mostly plusses with a few negatives on each place.

I've always liked the Dauphine Orleans. It's a nice, well-located property. Bienville is TOO much in the middle of things for my tastes. Decatur/S. Peters is VERY noisy.

We also like the Dauphine Orleans for its location. Only downside is the room decor is a bit dated, but still very pleasant.

Be sure to request a room with balcony overlooking Dauphine Street. Dauphine is quiet enough at night to not worry about street noise.

I also prefer the Dauphine.

Every time I stay there I can easily imagine waking up and finding it's 100 years ago.

I prefer the rooms across the street upstairs overlooking the courtyard.

Frankly, I loved staying in the Bienville House. The employees were friendly and helpful. I didn't find it noisy at all (I had a room overlooking the pool). Even my friend, who stayed in a king bedded room (where his huge balcony was on top of the hotel's street sign) didn't find it noisy. And frankly, it was convenient to be so close to everything, yet blocks away from Bourbon Street.
