Compare Four Season and Ritz Carlton in Chicago?

We are going to spend a weekend in Chicago in October. I was looking at the RC and FS. They both seem pretty similar, based on looking at the websites, but there is a $100 per night differnce in the price. Does anyone know if FS is worth the extra money. This is just a get away weekend, so luxurious surroundings and good food are what we are looking for. Money is not a big issue, but I don't like to waste it.

I have not stayed at either but both are run by Four Seasons and both receive very favorable reviews. Out of curiousity, did you check the rates at The Peninsula? They are frequently lower than either the RC or the FS and The Peninsula is fantastic! We live here but sometimes stay there on special occasions. It usually rates higher on Conde Nast's Gold List than either the RC or FS.

Thanks for the input. After checking out other postings on the Penisula, I have made our reservations there.

I hope you have a wonderful trip! If you are looking to truly splurge on a meal, Tru is a walking distance from The Peninsula.

Hi Alex - The Penisula was just wonderful. Thanks for the suggestion. One of the reasons that we picked Chicago was to try some of the famous steakhouses. We went to the Chicago Chop House and Gibson's. We'll save Tru and Charlie Trotter's for another trip.

I am so glad you enjoyed it! I am a huge fan of Gibson's desserts - the carrot cake is to die for!
