Comments on the Aladdin Hotel
Six of us are going to Las Vegas in August. Please comment on the Aladdin Hotel. I can't find anything on this site about it.

I have been in the casino portion of the Aladdin - the whole hotel was redone in the last year, the casino is very nice and fun. The shops along the Desert Passage are nice too. I thought the sports book was way to small and boring and I've heard the rooms are very small and nothing special. Have a good trip.

There were a couple of threads about it like 4-5 weeks ago.

In short, a few people fell in complete and absolute love with it, while others completely loathed the place.

IMHO, the Desert Passage is quite nice, though not better than Forum Shops @ Caesar's or Canal Stores at The Venetian.

The food is supposed to be good, especially the buffet (but for the price you can go to Bellagio or Paris)

The casino is the ugliest in LV.

What in the heck is Kim talking about?!
The Aladdin was redone in the last year?
The whole place is new from the ground up!
And the casino is the worst of the all the new hotels.
Desert Passage is nice but is rapidly heading toward bankruptcy due to very light traffic.
The whole hotel has a cheesy air about IMO and I think it'll have a very short lifespan. No way it can compete with the better new hotels.

I stayed at the Aladdin about 2 months ago. Deplorable service, staff and facilities. Would not recommend this and even wrote a complaint letter to the hotel manager. The pool area is a concrete jungle. SHADE was hard to come by. After having stayed at the Mandalay Bay before, we were very, very disappointed in the "brand new" hotel. Take my advice and change your reservations to the Mandalay Bay. It is a wonderful tropical experience both inside the casino and outside on the grounds and pools. The hotel has great ventilation as does the casino so not too smoky. Enjoy!
