Comments on Nevada / Arizona trip
 

Hi, we are flying to USA at the end of May and would like to hear your opinions and suggestions on the following itinerary (by car):

Death Valley 1 1/2 day (coming from LA)
Las Vegas - 1 1/2
Grand Canyon - 2 1/2
Sedona - 1 1/2
Phoenix - 2 1/2 (taking plane to NY)

do you have specific plans in phoenix? if not more time in any of your other places. phoenix is a city with a lot of traffic. sedona is only a 2 to 3 hour drive (depending on time of day and your driving habits) stay longer in sedona and visit oak creek canyon for an afternoon. or sunset crater. take a pink jeep tour.... enjoy norther az.

I'm a little confused. Is the 1 1/2 day you alloted for Death Valley, does that include driving time from Los Angeles to Death Valley? Will you be spending one night or two nights in Death Valley? One or two nights in Las Vegas, two or three nights at the Grand Canyon, one or two nights in Sedona.

I would take one day from Grand Canyon and one from Sedona and stay in Flagstaff and explore more of the Northern AZ sights.

Depending on what you are doing in PHX, I would consider taking one day from there and adding it to Flagstaff

With such a short stay, I wouldn't recommend trying to see many more sites unless it was on the drive from one location to the other. Also adding a night in Flagstaff means unpacking and packing one extra time.

Between Las Vegas and Grand Canyon, add a day to see Bryce and/or Zion and subtract make up the time by staying 3 days in Sedona/Phoenix area.
