Coming soon - an updated look for Fodors.com

Hi everyone,

I’m excited to let you know that later this week, Fodors.com will be sporting a new look and feel. As you’ve probably heard, we’re celebrating our 75th anniversary this year. Our web team has been hard at work on an updated look for our site in honor of this significant milestone.

The crisp, new design will make it easier for you to find the information you need without affecting the site’s core functionality and should not affect or change the way you currently use the Forums. We’d love to hear your feedback, and certainly want to know if you have any problems or questions. As always, you can reach me at [email protected].

Uh-oh! Do you have a hard hat ready? The last (minor) change was a major brouhaha. Good luck, Amy :-)

Jo, you said what I was thinking!

Did Fodor's do a test run with any of the regular posters to see if it's "user approved"?

I hear the "regular posters" may be collecting in the town square preparing their banners in anticipation of the changes... lock the doors of the Fodor's municipal building before you push that button....

I still haven't got used to that LAST change! Hope this one will restore its old user- friendliness. Good Luck!

Yea. I've been through a few of the changes in the past and the one thing I'm sure of -- no matter what it is some people will be unhappy.

Since it is a travel company, and most of us first ended up here because of that, perhaps we can consider it part of exploring new places. However, I hope someone gives me a GPS to help me navigate the improvements.

In case you haven't read my comments on the other threads, I wanted to give some more details. The changes to the Forums are going to be cosmetic and should not change the functionality. The redesign will be the most prominent on the homepage and destination pages.

We've been testing the new design on multiple browsers, Mac and PC. Your feedback will be very helpful (and appreciated) once these changes go live to help us identify any bugs and to fix them quickly. I'm not expecting any site outages to incorporate this new design, but I'll keep you posted.
