Coming home
Our flight from San Francisco leaves at 10am on a Monday morning. What time would you advise us to leave our hotel in Sutter Street to get a taxi to the airport.
|
Hi toledo, some will probably disagree with me but I would take the taxi one hour before you have to check in at the airport. I hate being rushed, and you will be dealing with commute traffic.
So that is what I would do. |
The taxi will get you to the airport in less than half an hour. If you can, use curbside check in to avoid the lines inside.
Have a great visit to SF! |
that was a good movie... Jane Fonda and Jon Voight...
|
Thanks for the advice.
Grasshopper, I'm afraid I don't know what curbside check in is, can you explain? |
Most of the airlines have stands on the sidewalk, outside the terminal where you can check your bags and get your boarding pass. I know United does for sure..always use curb side when going to Hawaii..a lot of the other airlines have it available also.

Is this a domestic or international flight? If international, check with your carrier, some have a 60-minute cut-off time after which the luggage is not accepted.
|
Wow. I can't believe you actually got people to read your post and answer your question in light of how non-specific your heading -- coming home -- was. Do you realize that all the posts get dumped into one listing under United States. I guess you're lucky that a few people who are familiar with SF are curious enough to figure out what someone had to say/ask regarding coming home from somewhere to somewhere.

Susan: curious enough? Better say "bored enough" LOL

Hi. I'm sorry about the heading, I'm pretty new to this Forum. My International flight is at 10am. What I really wanted to know was how long it would take for a taxi to get me to the airport. I would have thought that I needed to arrive at 8am. I thought the commuter traffic might be really bad at that time of day.
