Comcast (Tweeter) Center Parking
 

I am going to a concert at the Comcast Center (formerly Tweeter) in Mansfield, Mass. I have never been there before and I'm looking for info on parking. Any pointers on how to get out of the lot fast? Are there any outside or private lots nearby? I don't mind walking a little to avoid the after concert crush.

Well, for $40 you can purchase "premier parking" through Tickemaster.

Or, you could leave before the concert has ended (you can get out).

But, for the 15-20 minutes it takes to clear the lot and be on your way, I don't think either is worthwhile.

Be sure you have good directions to the venue. For some reason, the local kids delight in removing all the signs.

There is no magic solution other than that Parking lot attendants direct you into various lots - it is not as simple as first in/last out since several lines of traffic are going to various places as they fill. You will be "walking a little" as it is if you end up in a far lot. And the issue with lot clearance at end of concert is not the lot - it is the outside roadway that can not accomodate that many cars at once - so even if you ofund an off-site location, it would not get you much.

in 10 or 12 concerts at Great Woods (I still use the original name!) I have never found a way to escape the crush. they don't let you park where you want when you get in, so you go where they tell you, then you take 30 minutes or more to get out.

sometimes we take snacks and drinks and tailgate afterwards while we wait for the lot to clear.

go prepared. just allow that it will take a while to get out and don't sweat it.

I agree. I've found the best way is to go late. Not "late" as in after the show starts, but plan to be there for a half hour or so before the show starts. You get near the back of the parking lot, meaning the first to leave. WHen you show up, try to get in the RIGHT parking lot. So stay in the RIGHT lane. That lot empties first and is closer to the main road. Been there 4 times this summer already, and I agree to bring snacks/cooler for after in case you do get stuck. The longest I've waited is 1 hour and 45 minutes to get out. Not fun!

It is significantly longer than 15-20 minutes to get out, especially if you are in the back lots. Like another poster said, you have no choice of where to park. My longest wait time was close to 90 minutes.

The last two times I've been, I got the premier parking and for $40 I was out within 10 minutes of the show ending and the roads to the highway were wide open. I think they hold the other lots back until this is nearly empty, because we passed a couple non-premier lots and they were blocking them from exiting.

Thanks for the info. I went to the concert last week. We got there about 1 1/2 hours before the show and stayed in the right lane. Totally lucked out with parking. We were back on the highway within 20-30 minutes and were already past Providence driving home when we talked to our friends who were still stuck in their parking space. It was pure luck.

Funny story- I left Connecticut about 3-ish and my daughter drove down from Boston. We didn't co-ordinate our arrival, just figured we'd call when we got there to find each other at some point before the concert. When we got off the highway she was 2 cars behind me. Pure luck again.

P.S. I had no idea they had a strict no alcohol rule for tailgating. They were heavily patroling on bikes. Beware!
